Incidentally, in addition to connecting gluten and casein with
mental disorders such as autism, the "vegan straight-edge"
article also references an article by Reichelt in which it is
stated that hemoglobin may also have opioid residues when
incompletely digested.  The article listed is

        Reichelt Kl et al (1994) Nature and consequences of
        hyperpeptiduria and bovine casomorphin found in autistic
        syndromes. Develop Brain Dysfunct. 7:71-85

I am unable to find an abstract for this article.  The hypothesis
is interesting, however, and may be relevant to the situation of
Mary's autistic son, who does poorly on beef.
