Hi,

Thank you to all who replied to my post.

A majority of the folks indicated that they believed that  all newly
diagnosed celiacs initially have difficulty absorbing sugars and
starches and that as the gut heals, those foods will be better
tolerated.

No one indicated that this was a lifelong condition, it was simply just
a matter of time for one's gut to heal completely to better absorb these
enzymes.  A few still had some difficulty later on, but not as bad as in
the beginning.

The items most commonly believed to be difficult to absorb are sugars
and fruits, especially those with a high concentration of citric acid.
