Here is the summary of my question regarding Spam & olives. Basically, no
one could answer the question about the olives being GF. Another person
said that olives give them a reaction as well.
I know that Spam is horrible for anyone, but my husband cannot have gluten,
soy & milk/dairy, so we try to find something different for him. The spam
he had does not have the modified food starch. Kristen

My daughter cannot eat Spam either.. It has modified food starch in it
here in Oklahoma. We have found modified food starch can be derived from
many sources including wheat.. I don't know about the olives as she doesn't
like them..
Have a good day.. Sandi

Personally, spam would give my gut a reaction whether or not it contained
gluten. It contains so much FAT and so little meat, I can't figure out why
they even consider it a food. My husband (not a celiac) gets diarrhea if
he eats it.

Did you check the Spam? I know Treet which is the same thing has modified
food starch in it. Just something to check out.

Tell him not to eat Spam anymore. I've seen it in process at Hormel's.

Hi. Just wanted you to know that I get the reaction from olives even when
they don't have gluten.... I guess for me it's just one more thing to
eliminate...
