Hi friends!

Well, Mary Elizabeth, who is now 18 months old, has been off of the GF
diet for 3 plus months. And she is doing fine!! No intestinal problems,
no diarrhea, no vomiting. (The gluten had never really gotten past her
tummy when we put her on the GF diet at 8 months old.) And no increased
aches, pains, or illnesses. Don't worry, we will always watch her for
signs of CD, or other gluten problems. But after this long, we are
praying she has outgrown her gluten intolerance (she didn't have CD,
which I know you don't outgrow.) She does still seem to have lactose
intolerance, but it only gives her problems if she has a lot.

And this girl is thriving!! She loves being able to eat off of our
plates, and have what everyone else is having. And life is much simpler
now.

For those of you who have helped in the past, I truly thank you. You
were sanity savers, to say the least. This list has helped in more ways
than just food substitutions, recipes, and suggestions. It is more like
its own little community (or should I say Global!?!) with lots of friends
who know what you're going through. For a first time mom with a sick
baby, and no idea how to help her, you all were a Godsend. I have even
saved all the suggestions and words of encouragement, and will show them
to her someday, so she will know that people from all around the country
and the world came together to help her. It's really very moving.

God bless you one and all!!!
Melissa C. and Mary Elizabeth
