be carefull wwith simplly deleting programs with windows.
with files which are not programs, this is usually O.K. but if you have
installed a program, it may have scattered bits and pieces of its self all
over the place and if you don't get em all you may create a real headache.
If the program has an uninstall feature, as any well written windows program
should, use that function.  Otherwise you may need to look into one of the
commercial uninstall programs.  Even these are not simple and I
have no particular reccommendations.

We blithly download and try software like there is no tomorrow,
but it can do much more than fill your hard disk.
think before you jump, also about having and using a good
antivirus program like mcafee or norton.
Both these vendors also have uninstall utilities.
