After almost two years, the Pentium-166 chip on an office PC died.
Today as I was replacing the chip, I took the opportunity to check all the
jumper settings against the manual.
I found out that the jumper for "CPU voltage" had been set to the "default"
value of 3.5 volts. If I recall correctly, The P-166 should run at 3.3 volts.
My question is, did the two years of "too much" voltage cause the chip to
die early?
