I work for a company involved in the food ingredients industry. I will ask one
of the partners here ( he's a PhD in cereal chemistry) about this. I'll let
you know what I find out. Although what I do know, is that most single
ingredient spices that you buy in the store contain only the herb, dried and
crumbled. It's the blends you should stay away from. Besides, when in doubt,
contact the manufacturer. Or else, make your own!
