Hello Berna,

I avoid caramels because they are usually made with milk.  I don't know if
one can make caramels without milk.  When in doubt, check the label or
contact the manufacturer.  Of course, if they're talking about caramel
color, from caramelization of sugar, well that's just sugar, with no milk.
