A question for anyone out there who might know...What is "lactylate"? I'm
fairly new to reading every ingredient. But I've seen lactylate listed many
times, most recently as "sodium stearoyl lactylate".

I have several list of ingredients to avoid in a no-milk diet, but don't
find lactylate on any of them. Nonetheless, I'm wary of anything that
begins with "lact".

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
