Carmen,

By Federal law they have to provide your child with a safe alternative.
It is part of the Disabilities Act.  However, thinking about how easy it
would be for a slip-up, I think I will send EVERYTHING my child eats to
kindergarten.  That's exactly what I do for her now in preschool.

I used to go over the menu, read labels, etc.  There were always last
minute changes.  I stressed about her every day.  Now that I pack
breakfast, lunch and snack I know she is fine.  I only have to worry
about special party days.  It has also helped reinforce the idea of only
taking food that we know is safe.
