To PCBUILD experts:
The setup:
- Intel 200MHz MMX socket 7 cpu
- Intel Triton TX motherbaord
- BIOS Date: 10/14/97
- BIOSName: Award
- BIOS Version: Award Modular BIOS v4.51PG
- MS Windows '98 OS
- 2.5G Seagate Ultra-ATA hard disk - primary IDE - master - FAT32
- 2.7 Maxtor hard disk - secondary IDE - master - FAT16
- Creative Labs Quad Speed CD-ROM - sound card IDE
- Creative 16-bit sound card
- internal modem
The problem:
Enabling the checkbox of the DMA of the hard disk on the Device Manager --->
Settings ---> Disk drives ---> Properties ---> Settings results in
Windows '98 crashing. Already re-formatted and re-installed Win '98 twice.
Can anybody tell me why or point me to a website that explains this. Thanks
in advance!
Miguel Morillo
