I have plenty of experience myself. I work for one of those data recovery
companies :)

The hard drive you are talking about, the AC21000 is a 1.08GB hard drive.
This hard drive has problems breaking down when either an electrical surge or
some other anomaly happens. This drive when it starts to click and spin down
is usually either the hard drive can not find a servo it needs to work
correctly. The problem could either be platter damage or a head not working
correctly.
If you need more help or would like the company I am a part of give it a
try,
we offer free evaluations. If you do not want the data, too expensive, or we
can not recover it, all you pay is shipping.
