Ray, I'm curious to know what actual evidence you have that
unfiltered coffee consumption was the cause of Andersen's, but
not Stefansson's, cholesterol problem. I know that you
conjecture that Andersen boiled the coffee that they drank but
Stefansson was on the road enough to avoid it much of the time,
but what documentation is there for this conjecture? Also, in
view of the fact that Andersen's cholesterol quickly normalized
after a couple of weeks of "normal" diet, do you have information
that he abruptly stopped making coffee at this time? If Andersen
preferred unfiltered coffee so much that he was willing to
prepare it himself, why would he suddenly stop doing so?
Note that my own cholesterol response to an all-meat (with
liberal pemmican) diet was similar to Andersen's, and I drink no
coffee at all, filtered or unfiltered. I don't really like the
stuff.
