Anytime I have checked pregnant or lactating women's lipid
profiles, the cholesterol and usually triglycerides have
been elevated. Melissa's HDL was great. I have never found
a documented reason for this in my medical text books (but
what do they know). I'm theorizing that the baby needs mom
to have higher levels. Breastmilk has lots of cholesterol
and other lipids. I bet that Melissa's lipid profiles will
be right back to where they were when the baby weans. Great
that she's still breastfeeding at 10 months. Keep it up as
long as possible. She's giving your baby the most
*orthodox* paleo food ever!!
