The same as for falcons. Whole small animals are available frozen from
many sources. These include rats, mice, and quail. They are
available quite economically if bought by the hundreds. Day old chicks
and pinkies (young rats and mice) are not as nutritious and should be
avoided. Supermarket chicken and quail is also not to be considered fit
fare as the cat requires whole animals for maximum nutrition.
Many cats brought up on comercial food won't recognise whole animals as
food. Using a blender will make your offering look like canned cat food
(kids, don't let mom see you do this!).
Kira (my Harris Hawk) catches 100% of her food and also helps feed my
family.
