I have recently incorporated into my systems several
"Mobile Rack" removable hard drive bays (these have
been discussed recently here) which have what appears
to be a Centronics-like plug as a docking mechanism.

(These look to be very useful as I can keep my own
stuff on one drive and keep a client's stuff on another
drive, plugging them in and out as needed.)

My question pertains to the longevity of these plugs.  I
wonder if I should avoid plugging and un-plugging my
hard drives as much as possible, or if these are very
robust and can be plugged in and out many times
before wearing out?

I know a few of you swear by these devices and I wonder
if you have seen any wear out over frequent use?

The ones I bought were $25, and saved me $5 for
mounting hardware, so they are not real expensive
and might be very useful over the long run, but I
can't afford to have them go bad after ten or twenty
swaps!
