I am trying to get a microphone to work (to record to disk, or as input to
games) on my Pentium 166MMX with Sound Blaster AWE 64. This is running Windows
95 OSR2 with the latest SoundBlaster drivers.

I have had the card in for some time, and it works fine for sound, but this is
the first time I am trying to record with it. The driver control panel shows the
recording volume level slider grayed out, and while sound from the mic will echo
through the speakers, nothing but silence is ever registered to the sound
recorder applications (I have tried the Win95 recorder and the Sound Blaster
mixer).

Anybody got any ideas on what is wrong?
