Any tips on the easiest ways to recover partition info? Programs you use?

No.  Partitions are independent of each other.  What you do with one has
ZERO effect on what you do with another.  As long as you don't write new
info on the partiton in question or delete that partion, the possibility
of recovering the deleted files is relatively high.  HTH
