That is the main reason that your resources are so low. Disable one if
not both virus programs and you should see a big jump in the available
resources.
IMHO, most people do not need to constantly run virus software.
The two primary methods of getting a virus are by downloading an
executable (a program) from the internet OR by inserting a floppy disk
into your PC. So if you are not downloading lots of EXE files from the
'net and you are not using floppy disks of questionable origin, then you
don't need to run the virus scanners all the time. Just activate them
when you plan to download from the 'net and turn them off again when done.
Same thing applies to floppies.
Unless you have kids. In that case keep one virus program running at all
times. <grin>

I do turn one of the virus programs off, but I do keep McAfee running. I will
disable it like you said until I download something off the net. Thanks for
