Several individuals have commented on dry, flakey, "itchy" ears" . . . I
have this affliction and am wondering what people have read about its
causes. That a dietary factor is among them sounds quite plausible.

Ray, Congratulations on your contract. St. Martin's is a first-rate
press. I have 3 suggestions: (1) address the issue of the balance of
omega 6's / omega 3's on health a la Simopoulous's The Omega Plan (as you
well know, she is very sympathetic to the caveman diet); (2) address the
issue of calorie-restriction on health and longevity-the evidence is very
strong that calorie restriction has positive effects on both; and, as the
point has been made here before, a caveman diet naturally reduces
craving/hunger via its keeping insulin levels in check and via its high
nutritional density (see Roy Walford's latest books regarding this issue);
(3) address the impact of dietary cholesterol on health; there is little
evidence to link cholesterol consumption with blood levels of cholesterol
but some evidence that cholesterol consumption has negative health effects
aside from its impact on total blood cholesterol (Walford is another good
place to look at this literature). As an overall piece of advice, don't
stray too far from the data and address foursquare findings that are
contradictory to your theory, and you'll do much better in the long run.

Cheers!
