Kathy, that model does not have a thermostat, and appears to run around
140-150oF.  At that temperature, meat will begin to cook.  This may or may
not be a bad thing, personally I prefer "cooler" jerky that has not cooked.

One other thing, those round trays don't give you as much room as you might
think -- the shape makes efficient arrangement of items tough.  I know that's
being picky, and with the good dehydrators like the GardenMaster coming in
around $300, it's hard to find fault with the Mr. Coffee.

Mine sits in a closet, as I've taken to drying meet in long strips in the
oven (turn on very lowest, and crack the door.  leave overnight).  You
might try this as a stopgap solution.
