I am coming from an all-raw diet and experimenting with seared steaks.
FWIW, I find that if I overcook the meat (which to me means it is pink
instead of _red_ inside, and/or blackened on the outside) I feel hot
afterwards and sometimes even sweaty. I don't have this reaction with raw
meat or very rare meat.
