Some time ago I asked a question with the above reference.  Several of
you were kind enough to send suggestions, so I wanted to let you know
what happened, in case it can help someone else.

I had just added a new hard drive and was having a problem with the
computer freezing frequently.  After trying everything else, I
remembered that I had recently added two 32-MB memory modules in bank 2
(with 8-MB modules in bank 1).  I switched the banks, putting the 32-MB
modules in bank 1, and it has not frozen since.  New lessons learned
every day. <g>
