I read it.  Pretty interesting.  BTW I noticed that the extra calories
are eaten before and during the breeding season.  Then they nearly starve
to death in the off season.  The diet was also basically vegetarian.

This relates directly to people, and probably to mostly all animals.  The
more calories taken in, the faster maturity is reached, and the sooner
they are able to reproduce.

HG's, being people, no doubt tried to consume higher calories to allow
rapid maturity and reproduction.

However, the fundamental rate of aging is also faster the more calories
that are processed, and incidence of multiple later life disease is
greatly increased.
