At my doctor's recommendation I started my 13-year-old son (5'11" and 227.5
pounds) on Atkins low-carb diet three weeks ago. He has lost 14 1/2 pounds
and the appetite suppressant effect is taking hold and his sugar cravings
are gone. My doctor assures me it's safe for him and we are using the
appropriate supplements. What strikes me about this diet is that it is
almost inherently gluten-free. I'm using Atkins recipes for the whole
family now. I've started the diet myself and I am wondering if there are
any of you on the list that are doing low-carb. I'm feeling better and
loosing weight myself. However, the Atkins list I am on has no celiacs on
it and our problems are a tad different than theirs . . . (a tad????)
Guess I'm feeling lonely.
