Hello to All Members;
IMPORTANT NOTE: Not everybody on this list has free access or unlimited
time to read their message. For this reason I would like to point out that
this post DOES NOT contain Links to the various types of Thyroid Disease. I
WILL SEND another post ONLY with the Links. I will let you decide which or
both post you'd like to read.
I would like to extend my sincere THANKS to each and everyone of you of this
Celiac List, whom are always ready to respond when a question is put out to
them. In less than 12 hours after my original post was send I received well
over 100 messages, in total I have received 125. Some of the messages
contained repeated information on: Web Pages (with every kind of Thyroid
information), Support, Well Wishes, (a lot of you have shared both personal
and family experience). A few messages have touched me very much to the
point of tears. Thank You All.
At the doctor's meet there were 4 Doctor's and one Director, I must confess
that at first I was quiet intimidated by them, after I started to ask Them
questions and seeking answers I gained their respect.
It was a lengthy meeting and I must say very fruitful. A number of topics
were discussed and a lot of questions were answered. I couldn't have done
without your help. I am pleased to say that (the cause of urgency and
alarm) was discussed and resolved. I still have to have a battery of test
done and a number of specialist to see. Do to my last Complete Blood Work,
the PTH level was 4 times higher than the normal range, causing my doctor to
be alarmed; at this time I will not go into details but I will be posting
Web Pages where you can find the questions and answers to this topic. The
reason is that I do not wish to alarm anybody that might be experiencing the
same problem.
Parathyroid Disease is an Autoimmune Disease, which can go undetected for
many, many years. I have had Parathyroid Problems for the past 30 years,
which the PTH was always with the normal range; not this time, leading us to
believe that something more serious was going on undetected within my body.
There is NO CURE for Parathyroid Disease, however a person has a 95%
recovery with surgery. At times if not diagnosed in it's early stages and
regularly monitored it can lead it into a tumor (this in not very likely)
you will find detailed information in many of the web links I will be
posting regarding the subject. If you suffer from this Disease it is very
important that you take the time to read as much information on it as
possible because the Parathyroid control the calcium level in your body. I
do feel that it is relevant that one understands what can happen and watch
for the symptoms and make sure you discuss them with you doctor. We have to
be responsible for our own bodies and we have to take the time to listen to
what it (the body) is telling us. Be prepared, research the information,
make notes before you see your doctor, this is the only way we can educate
them about our diseases; don't be afraid/intimidated to ask questions.
Remember that doctor's are people just like us. They sure don't know what
our bodies are going through, we have to tell them and make them listen.
I hope that this above information will be of use to some of you. Thank you
for all the support / information you have send my way. I can be any help
to any of you please feel free to ask, I will do my best to answer them for
you.
