HI everyone. There have been some postings on pregnancy lately, and it's been
reminding me to ask a question I've been wondering since my celiac diagnosis a
year ago. Ia m planning to go to several doctors on this, but I'm asking for
a little informaiton up front, personal expereinces, recommendations for
articles I could read, anything. In the next year, I'd like to start planning
a family. I have had insulin dependent diabetes fro 17 years, and celiac's
disease for one year. SO there's quite alot involved. I feel great, the
diabetes is under control, I have had no problem with the celiac diet, and I
had a follow-up biopsy that showed slow but definite improvement. My husband
has no health problems whatsoever. (lucky dog)

1. I was thinking about going for genetic testing. Mostly for the diabetes,
to see what we could expect. Can they test for celiac's also?

2. Anyone have any advice for dealing with these two diseases at one time with
pregnancy? I have a feeling I'll be going out of my mind.

3. Can I still have nutrasweet while pregnant? I can't imagine life without
it at this point. I know that a few years ago, my sister in law's doctor told
her not to eat it.

Thanks in advance for everyone's help. I'll summarize.
