Great sautéed onion recipe
Believe it or not I use this in place of noodles,
it tastes great and it doesn't give me or my family
members gas.
2 cups Apple Juice
2 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 Garlic Clove - finely chopped
4oz brown sugar - firmly packed
3 large or 4 medium sized onions
White or gold onions seem to work best,
but you can use any type onion you like
One large sized skillet or frying pan (with cover)
Place the apple juice in the pan.
Add the olive oil and chopped garlic.
Set the flame to medium.
Skin the onion and slice end to end.
(I make my onion slices very thin.)
Place the onions in the frying pan
Add the Brown sugar,
then stir everything together.
Cover the pan and cook on medium heat for
20 minutes, stir occasionally.
After 20 minutes, place the heat on high,
and stir until almost all the liquid has evaporated.
The onions should be a lovely translucent caramel color.
Serve as a side dish.
