I got the following letter from Bush Brothers & Company (P.O. Box 52330
Knoxville, Tennessee 37950 - phone 423-588-7685 FAX 423-584-9429) in
response to my inquiry about "starch" and "vinegar" shown in ingredients
list on their products.
Dear Mr. Jones:
Thank you for your interest in BUSH'S products. All of our BUSH'S BEST
products are gluten-free with the EXCEPTION of our BUSH'S BEST Chili Hot
Beans and Bush's Chili Magic line.
We do use corn starch in some of our products, but it does not contain
gliadin gluten from wheat barley or rye grains which may cause adverse
responses in persons suffering from Celiac Sprue. The following products
contain cord starch:
BUSH'S BEST Chili Hot Beans
BUSH'S BEST Original Baked Beans
BUSH'S BEST Baked Beans with Onions
BUSH'S BEST Baked Beans in Homestyle Sauce
BUSH'S BEST Vegetarian Baked Beans
BUSH'S BEST Bold & Spicey Baked Beans
BUSH'S SHOWBOAT Pork & Beans
BUSH'S CHILI MAGIC (al 4 recipes)
Again, thank you for your interest and for using BUSH'S products.
Sincerely,
Kenna Hess

If I understand what they are saying correctly, all of the Bush's beans
are GF except for the two and that the "starch" shown on the label of
the ones listed is corn starch.
I have gotten so much helpful info from the list, I figured that I ought
to pass on some info I got. Thanks to you all.
Grampa Jim
