Yes. Absolutely, especially with routine formatting such as spacing. My
concern is with blind individuals working with more complex document
formats, such as tables, pictures and the like. In the case of simple
formatting like spacing, alignment and basic text attributes, I do agree
that there is no excuse for a blind person not to be able to correctly
accomplish the task. I teach the blind computer skills, including word
processing with programs like Microsoft Word. Effective use of the screen
reader and the keyboard commands provided by the word processing
application will produce nice looking text. Of course, it is still a good
idea for a blind person to have their important material double checked by
a sighted person before going out the door.
