I am writing to inquire about notetakers. I use a Braille Lite but am
not satisfied with the quality of the speech. I have spoken to Blazie
and they have indicated they couldn't change the speech. I find this a
bit bogus as speech technology keeps advancing. I have tried the
HumanWare Companion and liked the speech though not the size. I would be
interested in hearing about the Artic notetakers and how their speech
compares with the Blazie products. I still like my Braille Lite for
reading fine detail in Braille but would like an alternative for rapid
reading. I just heard about the Road Runner but will wait until further
development before considering it. Also does anyone know what happened
to the company Technology for Independence? They used to make a palmtop
computer called the Mynah. I think they may have disappeared. Any
information would be appreciated. I would also like to tell Jay
Leventhal my new email address which is [log in to unmask] I still am
receiving email with my old address but am migrating to Windows and will
eventually get rid of my DOS email account.
Dan
