The Frontier Learning Centre presents a series of software application courses
with an emphasis on the needs of the visually impaired and print handicapped.
These courses are to be held in the evening and include:
Keys to the Internet:
A six part course designed to familiarize the student with the
facilities and power of the Internet. Let us step you through such
tasks as:
* E-Mail sending and receiving
* News Groups
* browsing the web
* obtaining software
* using internet search tools and much more
The Essentials of Word Processing:
Using today's most popular word processor - Word for Windows and
Windows 95, allow our competent trainers to guide you through the
basic modules of Microsoft Word for Windows. These will include:
* creating basic documents
* retrieving and saving documents in various word processor formats
* using advanced formatting options such as multiple fonts, tables,
cutting copying and pasting
* inserting pictures and graphics into word documents
* printing using various styles such as news paper columns,
newsletter, etc.
Mastering Windows 95:
This 3 part mini-course takes you through the many functions of
Windows 95. As a follow up to Windows 3x, it makes using your PC
easier than you ever thought possible. The course outline includes:
accessing the items on the "start menu"
placing items on the desktop using "shortcuts"
the use of windows explorer for navigating around your computer
adding and removing software
using the built-in fax facility
switching between applications
using "dial up networking" to connect to the internet or another
external network
All training programs will be accompanied with outlines and machine
readable documentation.
