Hi Sara,
   My five year old daughter has been raised on a paleo diet. Usually at
that age, we used ground meat. As far as autistic children go, there are a
few other folks here, who can answer your questions on that subject. I can
proudly say, my kid eats her meat and vegetables. Watch the fruit tho, kids
prefer those over any thing, so we usually reserve them for desert. BTW, I
was on Atkins
when he first published in the 70's.
