Milk - free or dairy - free can still contain milk.  Just like dairy free cheese still containing dairy proteins in it.  About
two weeks ago I ran accross excellent  kosher information at Helen Fernety's site at http://non-dairy.org/ under understanding
kosher symbols.  It really explains the different symbols and what they mean.
