I am fairly certain that Cool-Whip is pareve, and it contains casein

Cool Whip is ABSOLUTELY NOT pareve.  It is labeled "dairy free" though,
since it somehow follows the federal law as to be considered "dairy free."
To be parve,  it has to follow the law of a "higher authority"  :-)  And it
is not.
