Hi -
If you want a frozen turkey that hasn't been basted, go for a kosher
one. Empire makes a very good frozen turkey which is completely
dairy-free because it's kosher. And, because it's kosher, you
can also be assured that the meat is very clean (because of the
kashrut laws) and that the turkey was killed quickly with a very
sharp knife. (Unmercifully killed birds are, by law, not kosher.)
But the milk-free part is the significant one. If you can't find a
kosher bird at your local grocer, call your local synagogue and ask
if they can refer you to a kosher butcher, grocer, or other source
of kosher meat.
