One thing this meta-thread has brought to light is that we have a
diverse, both geographically and politically, list membership.  I think
this is VERY valuable to preserve.  Frequently I want to know what
people from non-US lands think about socail issues.  I'd hate to see big
attrition from the list for any reason.
