Checked out Lindt
> bittersweet chocolate but it had butter - how can that be
legal so to speak?

Did it have butter - or cocoa butter? Cocoa butter is a
fat derived from the cocoa bean, totally unrelated to milk,
and safe for dairy-free diets. Is the Lindt bittersweet
chocolate made on the same machines as their milk
chocolate? Could have cross-contamination if it is.

Good luck - my son has been dairy free for 10 years, and
he's a glowing picture of health (great bones too!).
