Joan Nathan's Jewish Cooking in America is both a literary and culinary
treasure. Recipes containing dairy are clearly marked. The kosher web
site www.kashrut.com/ also lists some dairy-free recipes. Joan Nathan's
book is available to order over the Internet through Amazon. Please
keep in mind that Ms. Nathan's book is not a cookbook aimed at
children--it is a family cookbook full of traditional recipes brought to
America by Jewish immigrants. I've found that my public library is a
good (and inexpensive!) source for cookbooks of all kinds. It enables
you to take a cookbook for a test drive before you decide to purchase
it.
