My daughter (she's 3) has had problems digesting milk and other dairy
products since having a gastrointestinal virus this spring. Her
pediatrician says this is not uncommon, and that she may grow out of it.
In the meantime, we've been substituting Lactaid milk in her diet. Certain
web sites mention alternatives to this as Lactase enzyme drops that may be
used to digest the Lactose in regular milk. I think this might be a viable
(and less expensive) alternative for us, but have had problems locating
them. Most pharmacies carry some sort of generic Lactaid equivalent as
caplets, but my daughter won't use them, so I'm looking to drops. Any
experiences, and/or suggestions would be appreciated.
