Hello, everyone.
The African Studies Program would like to invite the members of AAM, and
their friends and families, to our annual spring symposium. This year's
theme is "The Premium on Communication: African Languages in the Visual and
Performing Arts," and this year's program includes a special concert
performance, fashion show and sale by WEREWERE LIKING, Alice Ngwe and
Jeanne Beatrice Zerehoue THIS SATURDAY NIGHT, March 21, at 8 p.m. in
Mitchell Theater (in UW's Vilas Hall).
Other events include Friday night's (March 20) Celebration of African
Languages and Culture, featuring perfomances by UW-students in Arabic,
Hausa, Swahili, and Yoruba language classes at 7 p.m., followed by the
music of DJ Lasisi Ibrahim and dancing until midnight. (These events are in
Union South).

following symposium events:
