One way to search for email lists is to go to:

http://www.lsoft.com/lists/listref.html

This will give you assorted options to search lists running on listserv software.

You might also use some of the list archive sites to search for your topic and see which resources they are archiving.  Two that come to mind are:

http://www.reference.com

and

http://www.dejanews.com

These two sites let you search usenet and the email lists they archive.

The first resource I mentioned is my first choice when searching for a new list though.
