Yes there are programs out their that will eat your computer if
you aren't careful. One of the crash problems that computers have
is some shareware that isn't friendly.

C:\WINDOWS\RUNDLL.EXE user.exe,exitwindows
Start In: C:\windows

I'm not sure if this makes sense or not. I rely on experts for
guidance in these matters. I agree that the more stuff you have
to shut down on you system, Windows, regardless of the version
will shut it down in sequence. Sure takes a long time if you have
many tsr's to close.

Yes. I have found that Windows Magazine is a really helpful
publication for learning and putting in to practice various tips
to keep the OS clicking along smoothly.....Well almost.

Karen Kenworthy who is the resident guru of "Power Tools", wrote
a program that shuts Windows down in a flash without killing off
the system in the process. One of the reasons I like what she
does is due to the fact she includes the source code. <smile> For
those who like to dabble at programing, this is helpful.
