I have dealt with this unit before. Even if you could connect a
monitor to the external port, you need to run some software from
Bondwell to enable the port, it doesn't just come on when a monitor
is attached. Tricky given that the LCD display has died. Bondwell
technical support is available in Canada, try www.3dmicro.com as they
are the Canadian manufacturer of Bondwell computers.
