I've been using Ricochet wireless modem by Metricom for almost a year. Very
satisfied. Every now and then the ISP or pop mail goes down for a few
hours, but the modem itself is 100% dependable. In addition to portability
it feels like having a full time live internet hook up. Only downside is
you have to be in their service area sort of like a cell phone.
