I see that all hands are coming on board to make this notion a reality;
Felix's enquiry, Aggo's idea, Sebastian's contribution, KC's PC donation and
set-up, and Emilie's listing below. This is definitely an executable idea.
Well done, folks!
I will not say much but to add that should we eventually acquire such a
space or office, I can donate modular partitions (used but good) with
attached work space for the office area.
Good afternoon, all.

Subject: Re: Office and Storage Space for AAM

Aggo's ideas is a very good one. I can see other associations wanting to
pool in with AAM to defray the cost.

Leaving the documents and archives with the current Secretary or President
carries advantages and disadvantages. For instance, access to the files by
other executive members may not be possible in due time. Because of the
growth of the Association and the fact that we all have varying
record-keeping skills, it is really in AAM's best interest to centralize
this part of the Association's life (are slowly moving towards an executive
director...?) Individual members may not always have space in their homes
for the volume of archives and costumes that AAM is accumulating.

The added value of our current system is that we know who was the last to
touch/handle/work with/even manipulate a particular document. In other
words, we know who is accountable for what document and when.

So, if or when we change the current system, let's try and work out a
system that would help keep the files as safe and secure as they've been.
We may even consider some sort of back up.

In this discussion, I would like us to think about a number of issues:
        1) Would we want a shared office/storage space or one just for AAM
        2) How much would the space cost (equipment and overhead)
        3) Would we accept equipment donations? if yes, what would be our
wish list
        4) Managing the records from a shared and "impersonal" place.
        5) Who would be the prime responsible
        6) Who would have access to AAM's files and costumes and would these
files
and costumes be secured or open.
        7) What would be the back up in case something happens to the
records
