I have been having a problem configuring a PCI card in my NT computer. This
is a very real problem for me and any help is appreciated.
My computer is: Intel PII 400mhz
ASUS MB - P2B-S (scsi on mb)
256mb
ATI Xpert 98 8mb AGP Graphics card
HDs - WD 9.1 SCSI UW
IBM 4.2 SCSI UW
Add-on cards: WaveCenter Digital/Optical
Sound Card
Soundblaster
AWE64
Miro DC30+
Audio/Video Capture Card
Programs that use the card will crash - but not necessarily right away.
Sometimes it works great for a short while. All software and drivers are
checking out OK. All drivers have been reinstalled etc. Pinnacle says that
it's a hardware configuration problem. When the program crashes, the NT
Task Manager can no longer close the program - so it dies and sits on the
desk top - motionless and disruptive. Obviously, the card is useless after
that point.
Under Multimedia|Devices, the only intended appearance of the card is found
under video codec - and the desired codec is functioning properly. As this
is a specialized card, it is not a standard video or audio card and Pinnacle
has not designed it to appear as either an audio or video card.
Event Viewer gives me the following message on the crash:
DC30 device not found - 0x0001.
