I'm working on a computer that has an OR Technology LS-120 floppy drive
installed in lieu of a standard 3.5" floppy drive.
The motherboard (an FIC 2007) detects it as a bootable device, so it functions
properly at the pre-operating system level. However, in both Windows 95B and in
a clean install of Windows 98, it shows up in My Computer as both an A drive and
as a D drive. When accessing it as a D drive, it functions properly. When
accessing it as an A drive, the machine hangs forever.
Is it normal for the OR LS-120's to be visible as both an A drive and as a D
drive in Win95B and/or Win98? Or is this some weird interaction of the LS-120
with this specific motherboard?
