I have a 3-4 year old AMD486DX. The floppy drive is original.

When I put a disk in, I get a: is inaccessible. I go to My Computer
and it is as if there is no disk in there. I took one of these disks
to another computer and I get the same message. I therefore assume
that my data is being destroyed.

I first checked the connections because we put a new power supply in.
Everything seemed ok. Electricity gets to the drive, it spins up.
All cables seem to be ok, not pulled out or anything.

2 questions:
1 - What might be wrong with floppy, could it be related to new power
supply (drive didn't act up before)?
2 - Anyway to restore data from disk? We save all data to disk
because I always figured the hard drive would crash before anything
else.

Many thanks.
