Hi all,

Please forward this message to other disability related listings.

I'm the author of the Screen Magnifiers Homepage at:

    http://www.plex.nl/~pverhoe/main2.html

On this page I try to give the visitors information about everything
that has something to do with screen magnifier software.
I try to bring information about screen magnifiers together on one page.
I also test the most professional screen magnifiers and offer the
results at my screen magnifiers homepage.
Since November 1996,6000 people visit the site and I got a lot of kind
responces.
A lot of support people and users of screen magnifiers congratulate me
with the site. It makes it a lot easier for them to select a screen
magnifier.
I construct this site, because I could not find a site on the Internet
telling me everything about screen magnifier software.

I think I brought some structuring in the information about screen
magnifier software, but what about other adaptive software like screen
readers and speech utilities?
Is there a site on the Internet, where I can find test results of
testing JAWS, PROTALK, SLIMWARE, OUTSPOKEN etc?
And what about hardware like CCTV's and braille displays?

In the Netherlands there is a magazine that presents screen reader
tests, but it is not on the Internet. In the USA, Canada, Australia,
Germany, UK etc. there are also magazines for the disabled and maybe
they are testing the same products as they do in the Netherlands.
But I can find nothing on the Internet.

There are a lot of sites on the Internet with information for disabled
people, with links to me, links to you.
If I want to buy a screen reader what is the best one? Or what is a good
one? What are known problems?
Browsing the Internet, searching for answers on these questions,
visiting hundreds of sites, but I don't find what I searched for.

What can WE DISABLED CONSUMERS OF THESE PRODUCTS do, to bring any
structure in this mess?
I tried to structure the information on the subject of screen
magnifiers. Who did it, or is going to do it for screen readers, braille
displays etc?

It would be nice, if there was one site on the Internet, that brings all
this information together.
What can we do about this???

Suggestions!!!

If you have any idea, how to structure information about adaptive
technology for the disabled on the Internet, please let me know.
If you have recent articles, reviews, test reports on this subject
please let me know and send them to me.
If you are interested in structuring the "mess", please let me know it?
If you can offer free space on an Internet site, where we can bring this
information together, please let me know it.

Kind regards Peter Verhoeven
